Every year on March 3rd in Japan, people celebrate the Girl's Day by displaying a set of hina dolls in the house. Hina dolls are said to represent the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Mickey and Minnie Mouse, one of the most popular couple in Japan, deserve this role.
This item was
intended for sale at Tokyo Disney Resort's twin theme parks, but remained unshipped in a ceramics factory in Japan, which ended up getting shut down
some years ago.

My store provides Japanese Seto-yaki porcelain figurines. 'Seto-yaki' is a general term for porcelain products made in Seto, Japan (while this resin figurine was also made there).
Seto is a city located in the center of Japan and is also the center for Japan's ceramics industry.
From Occupied Japan Era to the late '70s, Seto-yaki items under various brand names used to be exported worldwide. However, as the ceramics industry has been declining year by year, many manufacturers have been forced to shut down their factories in the last few decades.
